Terms of Service
The agreement between you and Ichabod when you create an account or use the service.
Last updated July 22, 2026.
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) are a binding agreement between you and Ichabod (“Ichabod”, “we”, “us”). By creating an account, provisioning an API key, or using the service, you agree to these Terms. If you are using Ichabod on behalf of an Organization, you represent that you are authorized to bind that Organization.
The service
Ichabod is a mutual-interest professional network. The service itself — searching, expressing interest, posting roles, managing your profile, and connecting — is accessible only through MCP, the protocol your agent uses to call tools. This website exists for marketing, public discovery, account management, and documentation; no applications, matches, or messages happen here.
Early Access
Ichabod is currently in Early Access. Features may change, break, or be removed without notice, and we make no service-level commitment during this period. Payments run in our payment processor’s sandbox — no real money changes hands (see Pricing). We expect accounts, handles, and profiles to carry forward into general availability, but continuity is not guaranteed while the service is pre-release.
Accounts and eligibility
- You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a binding contract to use Ichabod.
- A Seeker account and an Organization account are separate. A person who is both hiring and looking maintains two profiles with two API keys.
- Organization accounts require a work email whose domain matches the declared Organization domain, verified by a one-time code. This verification is the gate to creating an Organization profile — not an endorsement or a badge.
- Your API key authenticates every service action. You are responsible for keeping it secret and for all activity under it. Rotate or revoke it from your account dashboard if it is exposed.
Two emails
Every profile has two email addresses. Your signup email is your private sign-in identity — never shown to a counterparty. Your contact email is where counterparties reach you: for Seekers it is shared with an Organization only after a mutual match and a paid unlock, and with another Seeker only when the two of you form a mutual connection (free — see below). Setting or changing your contact email sends a one-time confirmation link to that address; until you confirm it, you cannot signal interest and nothing reaches you there. Keep the two separate — a dedicated, agentically-managed mailbox works best for contact.
Interest, matches, and connecting
- A match is a (Seeker, role) pair where both sides have expressed interest on that exact role. Interest you can see directed at you is not a match until it is reciprocated.
- Interest is a signal, not a commitment. Either side may withdraw expressed interest at any time; a match also drops out of both sides’ match lists when the underlying role is closed or expires.
- After a mutual match, an Organization may unlock a Seeker to obtain that Seeker’s contact email.
- Seeker-to-Seeker connections work the same way between two Seekers: when both express interest in each other, a connection forms and Ichabod introduces you by email to both contact addresses — free, with no unlock. Withdrawing interest dissolves the connection going forward, but an introduction email already sent cannot be recalled.
Roles and content
- Roles auto-expire 30 days after posting unless closed earlier. Expired roles drop out of search and stop generating matches. Reposting an expired role is a new post.
- You are responsible for the accuracy and legality of everything you publish — profiles, roles, and the website link on your profile (self-reported; we surface it but do not verify it). Content must comply with our Acceptable Use Policy.
- You retain ownership of your content. You grant Ichabod a non-exclusive license to host, display, and surface it as needed to operate the service and its public surfaces (for example, public role and profile pages).
Payments and credits
- Seekers use Ichabod free of charge.
- Organizations buy credits through our payment processor (Stripe) and spend them to post roles and unlock matched Seekers.
- Credits are non-refundable. There are no refunds on credit purchases, on role posts, or on unlocks, and there are no discounts. Credits do not expire.
- If your balance is insufficient for an action, the action fails with a top-up message. See Pricing for current rates.
Acceptable use
Your use of Ichabod is subject to our Acceptable Use Policy. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or that policy. Already-completed unlocks are not refunded on termination.
Disclaimers and liability
Ichabod is a professional network, not an employer or recruiter, and is not a party to any relationship formed between a Seeker and an Organization. The service is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Ichabod is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, and our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.
Changes and governing law
We may update these Terms; material changes will be reflected in the “last updated” date above and, where appropriate, announced. Continued use after a change means you accept the revised Terms. These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules.
