I build data-driven products and the analytics systems underneath them. Twenty years in, split roughly evenly between shipping product and building the data capability that tells you whether the product is working. I started as a front-end engineer, became an analyst, then ran analytics for a company, then moved into product management — so I've seen the same problem from three sides.

Mentee Group Ltd — Founder · Lisbon · Sep 2025–present Building a self-service analytics system: automated pipelines, data models, data marts, dashboards, ML forecasting, and an AI analyst grounded in company domain knowledge. Teams end up building their own reports instead of queueing for mine.

Product

Metabase — Product Manager · Remote · Feb 2024–Jul 2025 Owned the core querying experience: GUI query builder, SQL editor, filters and parametrization. Most of the job was paying down quality debt in legacy code — ~1,000 bugs fixed, 300 of them critical, while revenue kept doubling year over year. Also shipped the first AI features: query generation and automatic error fixing.

Snoonu — Head of Product, Customer App · Doha · Mar 2022–Feb 2024 Core functionality and main verticals of an on-demand delivery superapp. Six product teams, 40+ engineers and designers, 4 PMs reporting to me. Rebuilt the order flow end to end and launched superapp navigation, search, filters, promotions and payments. App rating 3.5 → 4.5 · conversion 1.2x · orders per user 1.3x · active customers 2.3x · GMV 2.7x · non-commission revenue 3.6x.

Fridge No More — Product & Analytics · Remote · Sep 2021–Mar 2022 Client app product and analytics for a 15-minute grocery startup. Cut empty search results by half, shipped personal recommendations and a recipes feature, introduced a service fee. Built the unit economics that showed the model could actually be profitable.

Yandex (Practicum) — Senior Product Manager · Moscow · Mar 2020–Sep 2021 Launched and grew an English-language course product from zero to hundreds of active students, pivoting the business model until the unit economics held and the thing could scale.

AI / ML

Skyeng — Product Manager, AI/ML · Moscow · Apr 2019–Feb 2020 Built and ran a team of researchers and engineers. Shipped ML-based teacher recommendations, NLP-driven video recommendations, and an emotion recognition system that ran 10x cheaper than Amazon Rekognition. Prototyped an AI teacher with speech recognition and text-to-speech.

Analytics

Skyeng — Chief Analytics Officer · Moscow · Sep 2017–Apr 2019 Built the analytics product, the infrastructure and the org. Hired, trained and developed 30+ remote analysts, with processes for peer review and knowledge sharing. Implemented a full BI system and made the company genuinely data-oriented — reports and dashboards that divisions actually used.

Skyeng — Product Analyst · Moscow · Oct 2016–Sep 2017 Found where the product lost money, formed hypotheses, tested them with experiments and A/B tests. Defined "active reader," which became the definition everything else measured against. Organized data collection into the warehouse.

Bookmate — Product Analyst · Moscow · Jul 2015–Oct 2016 Designed a framework for running analytics experiments and split tests simultaneously. Automated monthly KPI and per-version funnel reporting. Migrated data and reports to AWS. Mixpanel, Kibana.

Engineering

Agent.ru — Head of UI Development · Moscow · Mar 2009–May 2015 Led 3 front-end engineers. Designed the front-end architecture for new versions of the site and back office, shipped the full online flight-ticket purchase flow, then rail tickets and mobile. Built the product analytics infrastructure and ran UI experiments — 2x improvement in conversion to purchase. The company became a top-5 OTA in Eastern Europe.

Agent.ru — Front-End Engineer · Moscow · Oct 2006–Mar 2009 Built the first version of the online flight-ticket purchase UI.
